1. Who We Are
Curator is a classical art history learning app developed by the Curator team
("we", "us"). Questions? Email us at
supportcurator@gmail.com.
2. What We Collect
- Account information — when you register, we collect your name
and email address via Clerk
(our authentication provider). If you sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook,
we receive only what that provider shares (typically name and email).
- Game progress — XP, level, streak, lesson completions,
card collection, coins, and achievements are stored on our servers so you can
sync across devices.
- Journal entries — notes you write about artworks are stored
locally on your device only and are never uploaded to our
servers. They stay private to you.
- Display name & avatar — shown on the public leaderboard
only if you participate.
3. What We Do NOT Collect
- Journal or note content (stays on your device)
- Location data
- Camera or photo library access
- Device contacts or calendar
- Advertising identifiers (no cross-app tracking)
- Third-party analytics (no Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.)
4. Push Notifications
With your permission, we send optional daily learning reminders. You can
disable them at any time in the app or in your device Settings.
5. Third-Party Services
- Clerk (privacy policy)
— handles authentication and stores your credentials securely.
- Render — hosts our backend servers and PostgreSQL database
in the United States.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time
from Profile → Delete Account inside the app. Deletion is
immediate and irreversible.
7. Children
Curator is rated 12+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not
knowingly collect data from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect
any changes. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance.
